Architecture Design Studio (ADS)

The Architecture Design Studio provides students with personal workstations, computer network connections and 24-hour access to allow participation in the synergy of a shared learning experience. The University of Newcastle is the only university in Australia which offers a 24-hour student studio to its Architecture students.

For access to the ADS you must complete the CESE Work Health and Safety induction. Some of the questions will not be applicable to you however you must still complete the induction for access to be given. Once you have completed the induction it usually takes 1-3 business days for access to be granted via your Student ID card.

Please follow these steps to complete the induction and request access:

  • Click the link below to enrol in the CESE Work Health and Safety CANVAS page: https://canvas.newcastle.edu.au/enroll/GDJDWA 

  • Once you have enrolled you can enter the CESE Work Health and Safety induction page on your CANVAS dashboard.

  • Select the ‘ADS201 Building Induction’ module and complete the steps.

  • After the ‘quiz complete’ page, the next page will have a Microsoft sign in - sign in with your UoN login details.

  • Follow the prompts to request access and choose ‘ADS201’ from the dropdown menu. In the academic approver section, please select ‘Ethan Smith’.

  • Request access!

  • Once your access has been granted you can enter the ADS with your Student ID card.
